McDevitt & Duffy CPAs (M&D) is a CPA firm in downtown Edmonds which has been a part of the community for over 30 years. We are looking for a motivated CPA (or CPA candidate) experienced primarily in tax planning and preparation for individual, corporate, partnership, trust and estate income tax returns. Although not a major revenue source for our firm we also prepare estate tax returns and perform QuickBooks consulting and basic financial planning.


  • Preparation, coordination for business & individual income tax engagements

  • Provide advisory, consulting and training services to clients

  • Have direct contact to clients and managing engagements

  • Administrative tasks to help improve our office such as: process improvements, technology implementation and marketing

  • Representing clients in front of the IRS and other taxing authorities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • CPA preferred, or eligible CPA candidate required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field with all required accounting courses completed

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a public accounting firm required, including preparing tax returns

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), QuickBooks, tax preparation software, tax research software

  • Team player (there is no “me” in team)

  • The ability to work enthusiastically in a fast pace environment and to meet established deadlines

  • Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to clients

  • Willingness to work in a hands-on work environment and multi-task

  • You don’t need to know everything, but rather have above average problem-solving skills and the confidence to know several strategies to find an answer
